WA95: The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard (a barrel sample) comes from vines planted in 1966. Deep ruby-purple, it's scented of cedar, new leather, vanilla, blackcurrant bud and chocolate box with herbs hints and a core of blackcurrant liqueur and warm black fruits. Full-bodied with intense black fruits in the mouth, it's framed by very firm, chewy tannins and great freshness, with wonderful chocolate notes coming through on the long finish.
