Tatomer Pinot Noir Santa Barbara 2016
A Santa Barbara native, winemaker Graham Tatomer began working in the wine business at the age of 16, but truly learned the trade when he moved to Austria in 2003. Today, Graham makes wines of a clear Austrian pedigree – with a presentation of power, precision, and detail – but their tenor is wholly idiosyncratic: they belong to the soils and climes of Santa Barbara. His Pinot Noir is floral with red fruit aromas are on the nose and a bit of earthiness on the palate.
VM90: "The 2016 Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) is a lovely appellation-level wine. Floral and savory, the 2016 is done in an ethereal, perfumed style with quite a bit of whole cluster influence, and impeccable overall balance. Fruit sources are Kick On, Duvarita and John Sebastiano." - Antonio Galloni
