Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne 2012
JS95: "Aromas of ripe fruit such as sweet strawberry and hints of orange peel and chocolate. Medium to full body, soft and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. Riper style. Drink or hold."
Giancarlo Pacenti is considered one of the best winemakers in the appellation of Brunello di Montalcino. He took over his family’s estate in 1988 and sources his fruit from two family-owned vineyards in Montalcino. Vecchie Vigne is Sangiovese from 35-year-old vines. It’s aged for 24 months in French oak barriques. Medium to full-bodied with velvety tannins. Structured and elegant.
