Roco Winery Pinot Noir Gravel Road Willamette Valley 2014
JS93: "Purity of fruit is so alluring with strawberry and citrus undertones. Perfumed. Full body, firm and chewy tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Very structured. Needs to soften with bottle age. Better in 2019." - James Suckling
A co-founder of Argyle Winery, Rollin Soles purchased in 1987 a breathtaking hillside property down a gravel road in the Chehalem Mountain Range. The property’s combination of elevation, soil type, natural springs, and geological aspect was the seed of a dream that would eventually become ROCO Winery. Soles is the only US-born winemaker to have a red, white and sparkling wine featured in the WS Top 100. He has more top 100 wines than any other winemaker in Oregon! The Gravel Road exhibits his deft touch, with ripe red and black fruits, grippy tannins, and a touch of vanilla spice.
