VM92: The 2015 Prile is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot. It is also one of the finer wines I have tasted from Volpaia's Prelius estate. Dark and beautifully resonant on the palate, the 2015 opens up nicely with a bit of time in the glass, revealing hints of black cherry, chocolate, licorice and espresso. Drink it over the next decade. Organic

SJ94: The vineyards for the Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Sangiovese (40%) and Merlot (20%) for Prelius are located on a hilltop along the shores of the coastal lake for which it is named. Aromas of leather, graphite and plum skins indicate its dark nature. Juicy, with firm tannins, violets and cinnamon spice offer a luxurious flavor profile and a distinct mouthfeel. - Meredith May, Somm Journal. Organic
