Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero 2013 1.5L
JS95: "Such focused and precise fruit on the nose with a lovely ripeness of plums, flowers and light hazelnuts. Full-bodied, velvety and polished. Very pretty finish. Chewy now but will soften with time. Better in 2018."
WS94: “A suave red, this exhibits bright cherry, strawberry, iron, tar and tobacco flavors. Harmonious, with civilized, integrated tannins providing support. Shows terrific texture and spicy length.”
Paolo Scavino, a historical winery in the Barolo region, was founded in 1921 and remains a family tradition. Winemaker Enrico Scavino began working in the winery at 10 years old and uses 60 years of experience to craft cru-specific wines with brilliant individual styles. Monvigliero comes from the Grand Cru vineyard of Verduno, where warm days and cool nights help produce a very elegant and focused wine.
