Paolo Scavino Barolo Cannubi 2013
JS96: "Aromas of strawberries, flowers and tea follow through to a full body, a dense center palate and a tannic and structured finish. Big and powerful Cannubi. Tiny production. Drink in 2022."
WS96: “This red starts out with firm grip to the cherry, strawberry, rose, leather, tar, tobacco and iron flavors. Opens up with aeration, turning seductive and elegant. Vibrant acidity keeps this focused through the lingering finish.”
Paolo Scavino, a historical winery in the Barolo region, was founded in 1921 and remains a family tradition. Winemaker Enrico Scavino began working in the winery at 10 years old and uses 60 years of experience to craft cru-specific wines with brilliant individual styles. Cannubi is probably the most historical vineyard in Barolo. The old age of the vines gives a unique quality to this concentrated and rich Nebbiolo.
