Earthy tones and some mild tobacco also appear. Fruit is sourced from 25-year-old vines. Winemaking starts in stainless steel and ends with a quick seven months in botte grande.

VM89: The 2018 Dolcetto d'Alba L'Alto is a powerful, heady wine that has enough structure and overall depth to pair with a wide range of foods. Black cherry, smoke, licorice and dark spice bring out the more virile side of Dolcetto nicely.
