Morlet Family Vineyards Syrah Bouquet Garni 2011

WA93: The 2011 Syrah Bouquet Garni is 100% Syrah from a hillside site in Bennett Valley with rocky, clay and volcanic soils. The wine was aged 14 months in French oak and was fermented with indigenous yeasts. An exceptionally strong effort, it exhibits a dense purple color along with a big, sweet nose of roasted herbs, licorice, charcuterie and smoked duck. There is great fruit on both the attack and medium to full-bodied, velvety textured, opulent mouthfeel. It should drink nicely for 7-8 years.
