Les Griffons de Pichon Baron 2015
NM93: "The 2015 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron has certainly developed on the nose since I tasted it from barrel: exuberant blackberry and crushed strawberry fruit, hints of graphite and violet coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, much more density than the Les Tourelles 2015 with an insistent grip on the finish that lingers for 30+ seconds. This is a superb Les Griffons with a soupçon of headiness! Anticipated maturity: 2021 - 2038." - Neal Martin
A great 2nd Growth of Pauillac, Pichon Baron was divided from neighboring Pichon Lalande in 1850. Les Griffons is a true second wine, coming from the same plots as the estate’s Grand vin. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. Loaded with black currant, plum and spice.
