Lail Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc Georgia 2015
WA95+: The 2015 Georgia Sauvignon Blanc is redolent of ripe apricots, passion fruit and guava plus notions of fresh hay, chalk dust and acacia honey. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is positively electric, with intense tropical and stone fruit flavors framed by lively freshness and a satiny texture, finishing long and chalky. 350 cases were made.
VM94: The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Georgia is rich and enveloping on the palate. Fermentation and aging in barrel bring out the wine's textural resonance. Although the Georgia is quite viscous, there is a good deal of aromatic intensity as well, most likely the result of a decision to harvest a touch earlier than in the past. Candied lemon peel, mint, exotic flowers and a kiss of new French oak all meld together in this textured, racy Sauvignon Blanc.
