WA97: The 2009 J. Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet colored and not shy on the nose with bold, bombastic crème de cassis, baked blueberries and boysenberries scents followed by nuances of chocolate box, cast iron pan, sandalwood, cloves and unsmoked cigars plus a touch of menthol. Full-bodied, big, concentrated and hedonic, the palate is bursting with black fruit and spicy flavors, with a rock-solid foundation of firm, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and layered.
