La Serena Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini 2010
JS96: "This is so rich and layered with lots of ripe cherry and wet earth aromas and flavors. Full body, chewy and polished tannins. It lasts for minutes on the palate. Impressive and persistent. Better in 2018."
La Serena sits 400 meters above sea level in the northeast corner of Montalcino. The Mantengoli family has owned the estate since the 1930’s and began producing wines in 1988. The wines are structured and generally more approachable in their youth than their neighbors. This Brunello is super rich, balanced, and powerful. A blockbuster style.
