Foxen Pinot Noir Block 8 Bien Nacido Vineyard 2013
WA95: "An incredible, profound Pinot Noir, Foxen's 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 8 was completely destemmed and aged 17 months in 50% new French oak. Its deep ruby color is followed by sensational notes of sweet cherries, black raspberries, crushed flowers and a touch of licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and multi-dimensional, with seamless texture, this is California Pinot Noir at its finest. Drink it any time over the coming 7-8 years."
Foxen is produced at the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in Northern Santa Barbara. Since 1985, Bill Wathen and Dick Doré have been making small production, vineyard-focused wines. They have become renown for their remarkable Pinot Noirs, receiving the highest acclaim and awards vintage after vintage. Block 8 is an incredible single vineyard Pinot Noir that spends 17 months in 50% new French oak. California Pinot Noir at its finest. Sustainable.
