Domaine des Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 2014
VM: 93-95: "Bright yellow. Very ripe yellow peach, spices and a note of grilled-nut reduction on the nose and palate. Round, utterly silky and rich; an explosive, mouthfilling wine with terrific framing acidity. Finishes tactile and classic, with outstanding resounding length and a powerful impression of extract. An amazing showing considering that this wine was on its finings in tank."
BH 92-95: "There is a trace of matchstick character sitting atop the more typical aromas of acacia, citrus, pear, apple and soft spice nuances. The succulent and exceptionally round flavors possess a borderline creamy mouth feel that contrasts substantially with a clean, dry, focused and notably tight finale. I very much like the excellent complexity and when coupled with the fine balance this should make for a terrific wine in due course, provided you have the patience to wait at least a few years first."--Allen Meadows
