VM98: Magnificent and utterly complete, the 2012 Musigny Vieilles Vignes is a wine of contrasts. At times powerful, while at others much more hushed and seductive, the 2012 changes constantly. In many ways, its elusive personality captures the essence of what makes Burgundy so compelling. Bright red fruits are woven into a fabric of spice, blood orange and white pepper. The flavors are deep yet wonderfully lifted. It's all right there in the glass. What a pleasure it is to contemplate the 2012 at this early stage in its life.
