Domaine Brusset Cairanne Les Travers 2017
D92: 30-year-old vines on clay-limestone soils produce fruit for this wine that’s 100% destemmed and wild-fermented – 70% in vat and 30% in four-year-old barrels – for 10 months before being bottled. It has a lifted, precise and fresh aromatic profile that’s gently peppery. The palate is medium-bodied and again very fresh and lively, showing great focus and energy. Juicy berry acidity and fine but toothsome, textural tannins reveal themselves on the finish. Kapow! Drinking Window 2019 – 2021
WA92: The medium to full-bodied 2017 Cairanne les Travers looks like it will be another great success, underscoring baskets of fresh blueberries and red raspberries with silky tannins and a long, lip-smacking finish.
