Colpetrone Sagrantino di Montefalco 2010
JS93: I like the aromas of almonds, dried fruits and mushrooms that follow through to a full body. Lots of shaved-chocolate character too. Long, flavorful finish. A polished sagrantino. Give it a year or two to soften.
WS90: "A savory red, with smoke and cured tobacco notes wafting through the black olive, ground anise and dried cherry flavors. Full-bodied and balanced. A fresh, minerally edge accents the grippy finish. Best from 2019 through 2027."
In 1995, Còlpetrone became a member of the Tenute del Cerro group. The estate, one of the key estates in the area of Montefalco, is situated in the center of Umbria. The Sagrantino grape is one of Italy’s oldest grapes and is high in tannins and polyphenols. This wine is 100% Sagrantino, with red fruit, spices, a hint of vanilla, dried fruits and chocolate. The ultimate steak wine!
