Clos du Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Papet 2019

WS96: Dark in profile, but very seductive, with cassis, crushed plum and cherry reduction notes carried by a substantial yet very silky structure. Light floral, incense, black tea and warm earth details score the finish. Tantalizing now for its mouthfeel and expressiveness, but there's no rush at all. Drink now through 2038. 300 cases made, 100 cases imported.

JS96: Dense nose of black cherry, bitter chocolate, smoke and licorice. Very concentrated, compact and youthful. However, the tannins and wide-screen body are already beautifully integrated. Very long finish, powered by full, plush tannins. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.
