Clos du Marquis Saint-Julien 2014
JS95: "Complex aromas of dried flowers, dark fruits such as currants and plums and then a wet-earth undertone. Wet licorice as well. Full body, firm and silky tannins and an entrancing finish. Tight and polished. Drink in 2022 but hard not to drink now."
Leoville Las Cases’ winemaking team produces the Clos du Marquis Saint-Julien. The presitigious Chateau has been owned by the Delon family since the late 19th century. This left bank blend is 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. It’s full of dark fruit with a full body and silky tannins. Pretty and expressive. A perfect expression of Saint-Julien.
