Clos de la Cure Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015
Clos de la Cure’s walled vineyard sits near the church of Saint Christophe des Bardes and shares the same soil composition as Château Cheval Blanc. It is believed that vines were planted on these plateaus in the Middle Ages. Here, the Bouyer family represents seven generations of viticulture. They harvest by hand and practice sustainable farming. The wine is about 75% Merlot & 25% Cabernet Franc, vinified in concrete tanks and aged 12-15 months in 50% new French oak. The resulting wine is marked by a fullness of Merlot with intense red fruit character underpinned by delicate tannins and an ethereal persistence on the palate. Clos de la Cure easily offers 10-15 years of delicious drinking.
