Chateau Soutard Saint Emilion Grand Cru [Pre-arrival] 2020

JD95-97: Another gorgeous wine from this estate, the 2020 Château Soutard offers the fresh, pure, lively style of the vintage beautifully as well as offering ample red, blue, and black fruits, notes of graphite, crushed stone, and violets, seamless tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. This is elegance paired with power, and it's going to benefit from just 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for 20+. Bravo!

WA93-95+: Deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Soutard opens with the most gorgeous perfume of rose petals, lavender, kirsch and raspberry leaves, followed by a core of preserved plums and ripe blackberries, plus emerging suggestions of clove oil and mandarin peel. The medium to full-bodied palate is softly textured and irresistibly seductive, featuring layer upon layer of perfumed red and black fruits and fantastic tension, finishing long, lifted and satisfyingly spicy.

VM95: Soutard is stellar. Rich, ample and super-expressive, the 2020 impresses with gant, stylish personality. Rose petal, mint, mocha and sweet spice complement a f red/purplish fruit, with pretty floral top notes that extend the finish gracefully. ret nicely balanced tannins wrap it all together. This is beautifully done.
