Chateau Mont-Perat Bordeaux 2014
WA88-90: "The Château Mont-Pérat 2014 has a little more precision on the nose than the Girolate: brambly black fruit mixed with cigar box, reserved at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannin, crisp acidity, a little austere toward the finish, but with decent length. It needs to develop more personality during its élevage."
Chateau Mont-Perat was mentioned in the famous 1864 edition of the Feret Wine Guide. It’s one of the jewels in the crown of the Premiéres Côtes de Bordeaux appellation area. This vast Right Bank estate was bought by the Despagne family in 1998. This mostly Merlot blend is layered with tobacco, clove, and dark, wild fruit. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity.
