Chateau Brane-Cantenac Margaux de Brane 2016
Château Brane-Cantenac is a historic second growth of Margaux. The estate dates to the early 17th century but its modern history begins in 1925 when François Lurton took over this property and Chateau Margaux. Today, it remains in the hands of the Lurton family. The wine labeled “Margaux de Brane” is the estate’s third wine and a tremendous value in top recent vintages. It is layered with blackberry fruit, tobacco, and spice.
WS87-90: Alluring lilac and black tea notes lead off, followed by a soft-edged mix of cherry and plum compote flavors, backed by singed sandalwood details on the finish.
