Champagne Bereche et Fils Campania Remensis Rose 2016
It comes from a single terroir, the village of Ormes, just west of Reims in the Petite Montagne. It is two-thirds Pinot Noir—including a small percentage of still wine for color—with the balance Chardonnay. It is, like all of the domaine’s wines, a Champagne of unusual originality and elegance, thanks to its unique site and the approach of its makers. 60% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay, 5% Meunier, and 5% de coteaux disgorged march 2020.
WA93: Disgorged in March 2020 with 2.5 grams per liter dosage, the 2016 Brut Rosé Campania Remensis offers up inviting aromas of raspberries, peach and orange oil. Medium to full-bodied, lively and expressive, with a chalky grip underpinning its generous core of fruit, it's bright and charming.
VM93: The 2016 Rosé Campania Remensis is a beautiful wine. Gracious and ethereal, the Campania Remensis is a bit tense in 2016, but it nevertheless possesses striking persistence and tons of character. Bright red berry and floral notes race through this taut, crystalline Rosé. I would open it a few hours in advance. Dosage is 3.5 grams per liter Most of this fruit emerges from a parcel in Ormes. Disgorged: March, 2020.
