Champagne Bereche & Fils Côte Grand Cru 2005
Bérêche et Fils was founded in 1847, yet it has been the innovative work of young Raphaël and Vincent Bérêche that has made this one of the most talked about small Champagne houses. Farming mostly old vines and building on a strong foundation of traditional Champagne making learned from their father, Raphaël and Vincent are two of the region’s most insatiably curious vignerons. ‘Côte’ is one of several micro-cuvées brilliantly conceived to express different aspects of terroir and vintage. This 2005 vintage is 100% Chardonnay made from Grand Cru vineyards in the famed village of Le Mesnil Sur Oger in the Côte des Blancs. This is a rich style with layers of mineral and sweet, buttery brioche. The finish is very long and fresh.
