Chalk Hill Estate Chardonnay 2014
WS92: "Strikes a balance between rich, spicy oak and an intense core of fruit, echoing pear, apple and melon flavors. Maintains equilibrium, ending with creamy, vanilla-scented oak notes. Drink now. 15,909 cases made."
Chalk Hill was founded in 1972 on a natural amphitheater carved into the hills of Eastern Sonoma, between the cool Russian River and the warm Alexander Valley. The world class vineyard sits on complex terrain. Each variety is matched to specific sites to capture the diversity of each vineyard block (there are 60!). The estate Chardonnay is full of minerality, yellow apple, and rich, spicy oak. Sustainable.
