Bouchard Pere & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru 2006

VM92: Good medium red. Medicinal dark cherry, blueberry and a minty nuance on the nose. Juicy and precise, with the minty, menthol coolness giving shape to the cherry and mineral flavors. Young and quite primary, finishing with firm structure and excellent cut and length. This is 13.8% natural alcohol but I never would have guessed it.
WA90: The Bouchard 2006 Le Corton smells of violets and bitter-sweet, high-toned distillate of herbs and berries. Inner-mouth floral perfume and esterous high-tones persist throughout, and there is a cool restraint and stoniness that seem to reflect the wine's geological origins. A sinewy sense of structure is accompanied by some superficial tannic abrasiveness, which the fruit successfully rides out.
