Armand Rousseau Chambertin 2017
WS98: Succulent cherry, raspberry and rose aromas and flavors are framed by vanilla and toasty oak in this majestic red, which is concentrated, yet lithe and fruity, with an intense sappiness to the texture. Beautifully balanced and long, this soars on the complex, mineral-infused aftertaste.
VM96-98: The 2017 Chambertin Grand Cru has an extraordinarily detailed and intense bouquet with a cornucopia of vibrant red cherries, crushed strawberry, cranberry and stony aromas, the latter becoming more and more intense with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with impressive body and depth. It is beautifully balanced with svelte tannin, velvety smooth with ample red fruit and spicy finish that lingers for 60 seconds in the mouth. Noble and aristocratic - just as Chambertin ought to be.
