Antinori Solaia (Pre-arrival) 2014
Marchesi Antinori traces its history back to 1385 and remains one of the oldest family-owned companies in the world. The family revolutionized Tuscan wine with the launch of Tignanello in 1971. Solaia - the “sunny one” - was launched in 1978 from a vineyard neighboring Tignanello 1325 feet above sea level. It is only produced in exceptional vintages and is now made from 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in barrique for 12 months and for a further 12 months in bottle.
