Josef Leitz is regarded as a rising star in Germany’s Rheingau region, which grows a higher proportion of Riesling (nearly 80%) than any other region in Germany. His fruit comes from a Grand Cru in Geisenheim called Rothenberg, so in effect, this is a high-end wine, with an everyday price. As the name suggests, Eins Zwei Dry is a dry Riesling, which means that you can expect acidity to be the most prominent characteristic. Leitz gets dry Riesling – it does not taste sweet, but it is extremely juicy and refreshing.
