The name ‘La Maialina’ (little pig) references the Cinta Senese heirloom breed that originated in the Siena area and is the only Tuscan native pig to survive extinction. This is very classically styled Chianti, with dark red berries, flowers and minerals adding to the final notes of complexity on the impressive finish. Robert Parker, Jr. calls this one of the most rewarding wines around $10. We agree.
