This famous Cartuxa winery, located in South-central Portugal, is housed in a former Jesuit residence, where the wine press has been in operation there since 1756. The wine is a blend of local grapes: Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, Castelao and Moreto, delivering an earthy, interesting wine with notes of wild berries, tobacco leaf and spices. On the palate it is concentrated, with a pleasing freshness and revealing rounded tannins balanced with fruit.
