Eric Texier became a winemaker after a prior career and without any background in vines or wines. As such, his methods developed not from years of schooling, but from his readings, his visiting winemakers around the world, and working in Burgundy with Jean-Marie Guffens at Verget. This elegant CDP comes from mostly 71-year-old Grenache vines, with Mourvedre, all from the famed La Crau vineyard! This is a dark purple-black color with intense aromas of new saddle leather, sweet dark fruit, earth and provincial herbs. It is big and bold with ripe, well-structured tannins that are nicely balanced by crisp acidity. Drinking fantastic now, but has the ability to develop well over time.
