About this domain, Robert Parker has stated that the wines of Daniel Boulle ‘may be the richest Cotes du Rhone I have tasted’. From a total of 37 ha. in Travaillan, Cairanne and Sérignan, a range of cuvées are made. The best cuvées are aged in barriques or demimuids for 6-12 months. Most wines are made from vineyards situated at Plan de Dieu, but this name is not mentioned on any of the labels. Daniel had, prior to the 1999 vintage, sold virtually his entire production to the area’s cooperative, but urged on by friends and family, he experimented with vinification and bottling for the first time. The results are startling. His yields are tiny and the fruit is perfect. The estate is certified biodynamic and organic.
