Caronne Ste Gemme is located in the central Médoc and sits on a gravel plateau, over an iron rich clay-sandstone base at the western end and a more sandy mix towards the Gironde. This shows bright floral and berry, with bright black fruit and a firm, medium finish. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot.
Wine Spectator: Offers a dark, plush feel, with roasted fig and warm currant preserves notes flowing over dark tobacco and bittersweet cocoa flavors, followed by a solid, tarry-edged finish. Drink now through 2019.
