"This Portuguese white has to be the most thirst-quenching wine on the planet!"
Broadbent is known as the world’s foremost authority on Port and Madeira, and is one of the great importers of Portugese still wines. Vinho Verde, the most popular white wine from Portugal, is a deliciously refreshing, light wine with a gentle spritz and mild orange, lemon/lime citrus flavors. Broadbent Vinho Verde is the only Vinho Verde imported on a refrigerated container. The result is the freshest tasting Vinho Verde on the market. An ideal warm weather wine, excellent for lunches and picnics, this wine is equally as lovely as an evening aperitif. It makes a brilliant pairing with any fish and poultry. The label was painted by the niece of Bartholomew Broadbent when she was four. This is a wine hand-selected by Broadbent and worthy of the Broadbent name. A blend of Loureiro, Trajadura and Padernã (Arinto).
About Vinho Verde: Vinho Verde is a Portuguese wine from the Minho region in the far north of the country. The name literally means "Green Wine", referring to its youthful freshness rather than its color. The main export markets are France, the United States, and Germany, followed by Canada, and the United Kingdom. The region is characterized by its many small growers, which numbered more than 30,000 as of 2005. Many of these growers train their vines high off the ground, up trees, fences, and even telephone poles so that they can cultivate vegetable crops below the vines that their families may use as a food source.
