Tasting Notes
Good deep red. Slightly musky aromas of currant, plum, chocolate, mocha and spicecake. A moderately rich, sweet midweight with slightly exotic flavors of fruity Venezuelan chocolate and mocha. Finishes with chewy tannins and a late hint of leather.
Vineyard Notes
The estate has belonged to the Mantengoli family since 1933 and Andrea and Marcello started making high quality Brunello and Rosso in 1988, since then the vineyard extension has increased from 1 to 8.5 hectares. In 2007 an extremely avant-garde and environment friendly new cellar, designed by Marcello, who is a trained architect, was completed. Low yields, beautifully cared for vineyards, modern equipment in the cellar, a dedicated owner and the support of oenologist Paolo Caciorgna all contribute to produce lovely wines. 100% Sangiovese.
