Wine Classes at City Wine Merchant

"Wine 101"

This is a great intro class if you are new to wine, or just looking for a refresher on the basics. We will cover 8 major grape varietals including Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, and Syrah. Our goal is to teach the basics of each varietal and to give an introduction into the wine world we are so passionate about. We will talk about basic production methods, the major wine producing regions around the world, different closures (screw-tops and corks), the concept of old world and new world, and basic wine and food pairing techniques. It will be a fun class, and a great introduction to wine!  Cost is $25 per person.

Level: Beginner/Intermediate
